    The purpose of this website is to gain knowledge of the South Asian community in Canada, predominantly in Windsor. This website will highlight the South Asian cultural and historical contributions to the community, as well as the struggles in adapting to a new country.

    In this website you will find the culture of South Asian countries of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. There are many sections comprising of art, clothing, food (recipes) and language. There is a historical section of India and Sri Lanka and the creation of Bangladesh and Pakistan. You can also find details about immigration to Canada and life in Windsor. How the community first began and read interviews of prominent members in the community.

    There is some difference of opinion regarding what South Asia is comprised of. South Asian comprises of many countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. For this website we will focus on community members from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka; Windsor's main South Asian demographic. "
